Top 3 Landing Spots for Jonathan Taylor

Jonathan Taylor is the best running back available in this draft. The back to back Doak Walker winner is an all-around running back and can do it all whether in the passing or running game. He has already made headlines earlier in the offseason when he ran a 4.39 40 yard dash, which was the fastest time for running backs. Today, I will be discussing my top destinations that will impact Jonathan Taylor’s fantasy value.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers- The Bucs have yet to find a consistent running back. Last season, they flipped off between Ronald Jones and Peyton Barber and while both had their moments, none of them were consistent. According to PFF, the Bucs Offensive Line was ranked 7th in the league, so it is evident that the running backs can flat out not get the job done. The Bucs defense is continuing to get better, and the only thing holding them back is now the offense. Winston is throwing a lot of interceptions, but this is also due to the number of passes he attempts per game due to the terribly inconsistent run game. Drafting Jonathan Taylor will give them a player that can immediately impact the offense and can take a lot of stress off Winston’s shoulders. Unlike Barber, Taylor can impact the game in the passing game as well. Getting a back like Taylor who can immediately impact an offense will also help the Bucs in a very competitive NFC South.

Atlanta Falcons- The Falcons had the 30th ranked rushing attack last season. Devonta Freeman is getting older and is very injury prone. The Falcons offense is very pass-heavy under Dirk Koetter which makes it easier for defenses to scheme against especially when the run game is virtually non-existent. Drafting Taylor will give the Falcons a player who can impact the game in both the running and passing aspects. Also, with the plethora of weapons the Falcons have on the outside (ex. Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley), Taylor will face run-friendly boxes due to teams having to respect the Falcons weapons.

Los Angeles Rams- Considering Todd Gurley’s knee injury, which seemed to affect him heavily this season, and the monster contract Gurley is on, it may be time for the Rams to move on. The Offensive Line play was down due to injuries, but seeing the Rams make a big move when needed, gives me no reason to doubt that they will make a big move for an Offensive Lineman if needed. Taylor can fit into the Todd Gurley role perfectly, a role which resulted in 2 straight seasons of the highest-scoring fantasy back.

These were my top 3 landing spots for Jonathan Taylor. The workhorse running back out of Wisconsin should make an immediate impact for whatever team drafts him. Fantasy wise, I believe these three teams would give him the best chance at having a Saquon Barkley Esque rookie year.
