MVP's Of Sundays Games

The first Sunday of NFL football is in the books and what a slate of games we had. Every game was fairly interesting and entertaining. Today I will be reviewing the MVPs of each game.

Philadelphia Eagles @ Washington Football Team

Eagles - Dallas Goedert: 25.1 PPR points

Goedert balled out and was truly the only bright spot on the offense. He had 8 receptions for 101 yards and 1 touchdown, outshining fellow tight end Zach Ertz. He was also targeted more. I would recommend picking up Goedert as I believe he can finish top 10, much like last season.

Football team - Washington D/ST - 17 points

If for some reason you started the Washington defense today, you probably won your matchup. They were the highest-scoring defense this week, outscoring second place by 4.9. They recorded 8 sacks along with 2 interceptions and led a monster comeback in the second half.

Seattle Seahawks @ Atlanta Falcons

Seahawks - Russell Wilson: 31.78 points

Chris Carson and DK Metcalf balled out as well, but this was a vintage Russell Wilson performance. He had the same amount of incompletions as touchdowns. His throw to Metcalf was a beautiful throw. Metcalf is looking like a solid wr2 with upside, but I do not expect this type of performance again from Carson, especially in the passing game.

Falcons - Calvin Ridley: 33.9 PPR points

The Falcons produced three-wide receiver 1 this week in Julio, Ridley, and Gage, but Ridley had the best performance. He had 9 receptions for 130 yards and 2 touchdowns. It seems he was Ryans' go-to guy in the red zone, as both his touchdowns were 4 and 18-yard receptions. Ridley has the potential to be a wr1 and he was drafted in the 4-5 round. Great value and performances for Ridley.

New York Jets @ Buffalo Bills

Jets - Jamison Crowder: 24.5 PPR points

Crowder is going to be a PPR beast, especially in this Jets offense playing the slot. He is Sam Darnold's go-to player and saw 13 targets today. This Jets defense is terrible and with the game script going to be negative for the majority of the games, Crowder will have a safe floor going into every week.

Bills - Josh Allen: 28.18 points

Josh Allen did it all today. He's an elite fantasy option as he is a running quarterback. He torched this Jets defense today throwing for 312 yards and 2 touchdowns while adding 57 yards and 1 touchdown on the ground. His usage was insane as he touched the ball 60 times. Big fantasy season ahead for Josh Allen.

Chicago Bears @ Detriot Lions

Bears - Mitchell Trubisky: 24.28

Mitchell Trubisky turned up in the fourth quarter. He led a 17 point comeback, throwing 3 touchdowns in the fourth quarter while saving people's fantasy teams in the progress. I wouldn't expect a performance like this every week, but he has a high upside as he is a dual-threat quarterback.

Lions - TJ Hockenson: 16.6 PPR points

Hockenson was the beneficiary of otherwise dull Lions offense. He will be Stafford's go-to guy in the red zone as he was today. He was efficient today hauling in all 5 targets and was a great route runner as well.

Green Bay Packers @ Minnesota Vikings

Packers - Rodgers/Adams: 30.68 points/41.6 PPR points

What a monster game for this duo. A lot of analysts were fading Rodgers and he proved them wrong. Took advantage of the young cornerbacks and delivered a masterclass. The FF State of Mind crew predicted Adams would be the wide receiver one and they were not wrong. Adams had a field day against the Vikings cornerbacks tallying 14 receptions for 156 yards and 2 touchdowns. He's going to be a PPR monster this season.

Vikings - Adam Thielen: 29 PPR points

With Diggs gone, many predicted Thielen to have a big season and this may be true. Although he wasn't targeted that much, he was efficient with his touches having 6 receptions for 110 yards and 2 touchdowns. Thielen is a bonified WR1 this season.

Miami Dolphins @ New England Patriots

Dolphins - Nobody

Absolutely atrocious performance from the Dolphins. Fitzpatrick was trash and nobody in the run game excited me. Parker was going to have a decent game but got injured. Nobody on the Dolphins showed up for the game and for fantasy.

Patriots - Cam Newton: 25.7 points

Newton4MVP. All the offseason talk he did was backed up today. Efficient day through the air and a dominant day on the ground. 2 touchdowns on 75 yards rushing with 15 carries. Newton looked great today and his rushing volume will keep him as QB1 this season.

Las Vegas Raiders @ Carolina Panthers

Raiders: Josh Jacobs - 35.9 PPR points

Not only did Josh Jacobs get 25 carries, he saw 6 targets( a career-high) and was second in the team in receiving yards. He beat down the Panthers in the run game, running in 3 touchdowns in the process. The type of volume he received was promising for the coming weeks.

Panthers: Christian McCaffrey: 28.4 PPR points

If you were a McCaffrey owner, you were probably very concerned for the first half. But he had a great game in the second half. He saw limited targets but was efficient with the ball in the receiving game. A solid start to the season for the consensus number one running back in fantasy football.

Indianapolis Colts @ Jacksonville Jaguars

Colts - Nyheim Hines: 27.3 PPR Points

Hines showed up to play this week and was the better back with/without Marlon Mack on the field. Rivers always loves to check down to his running backs and with Hines playing third downs and some early-down snaps, he saw a lot of targets. He was efficient in the run game as well.

Jaguars - Gardner Minshew II: 20.82 points

Minshew Mania is back. Minshew had more touchdowns than incompletions. He looked calm and composed behind the terrible Jaguars O-Line and had three fantasy-relevant wide receivers in Keelan Cole, Leviska Shenault, and DJ Chark.

Cleveland Browns @ Baltimore Ravens

Browns - David Njoku: 14 PPR Points

Njoku was a bigger threat yesterday compared to Austin Hooper, who they signed to a hefty contract earlier this offseason. He had a beautiful catch in the second quarter where he mossed the Ravens defender. He hauled in all three targets and scored the Browns only touchdown in a blowout loss to the Ravens

Ravens - Mark Andrews: 22.8 PPR Points

Andrews seems to always have big games against the Browns and this trend continued into Sunday. Andrews hauled in two tough touchdowns and was Lamar's favorite target in the red zone. He was the highest-scoring tight end this week.

Los Angeles Chargers @ Cincinnati Bengals

Chargers - Hunter Henry: 12.3 PPR Points

Tyrod Taylor was pretty bad Sunday, but Henry had the most receptions on this Chargers team. He was the most threatening target on this Chargers team yesterday and was a beneficiary of a weak Bengals defense.

Bengals - AJ Green: 10.1 PPR Points

Nobody on this Bengals offense did much yesterday, but the potential is there. If not for the pass interference call, Green would've had over 17 points. Burrow struggled yesterday, but that Chargers defense is no joke. Not to mention Hayward was guarding Green for the majority of the game as well. A promising sign for Green owners going forward.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ New Orleans Saints

Buccaneers - OJ Howard: 13.6 PPR Points

Gronk who? Brate who? Howard saw the most targets out of all tight ends. Brady targeted him over Gronk in the red-zone, although to be fair, he was wide open. Great week for Howard owners and a worrying week for those he reached for Gronkowski.

Saints - Alvin Kamara: 23.7 PPR Points

Michael Thomas disappointed many as Kamara stole the show on opening day. Had the most targets and saw goal line carries for this Saints team. He had a third touchdown called back as his knee was down just inches before the football crossed the plane. Kamara showed why he is worth the 15 mil/year.

Arizona Cardinals @ San Francisco 49ers

Cardinals - DeAndre Hopkins: 29.1 PPR Points

Hopkins had 29 points, without scoring a touchdown. Many people questioned how many targets Hopkins would see in the Cardinals offense. The answer yesterday, was enough. Hopkins was targeted 16 times and hauled in 14 of those. He was stopped just short of the goal line which would've given him 35.2 PPR points. A monster performance for Hopkins who signed a contract extension earlier in the week.

49ers - Raheem Mostert: 25.1 PPR points

Mostert is back and better than ever. He is the lead back in this potent 49ers running offense. He was targeted a lot out of the backfield, which was unusual to see, but great for PPR purposes. He showed his ability to take a 5-yard pass to the house and completely change the dynamic of both the football and fantasy games.

Dallas Cowboys @ Los Angeles Rams

Cowboys - Ezekiel Elliott: 27.7 PPR Points

While Cooper actually performed well on the road, Elliot stole the show. He made the Rams defense look silly juking out 5 defenders on the sideline for his first touchdown. He saw a great workload on the ground, considering how pass-heavy many thought this Cowboys offense would be.

Rams - Malcolm Brown: 19.9 PPR Points

What was the point of drafting Cam Akers and Henderson in back to back drafts.? Rams will never cease to amaze me but they got the job done and it was led by Malcolm Brown. The Rams ran the ball 36 times and it seemed like a committee between Akers and Brown, however, Brown was more efficient and got the goal-line work, which as of now, makes him the better fantasy option.
