Most Underrated Player: Los Angeles Rams

Tyler Higbee is criminally underrated. He is currently the 12th tight end being draft at the 11.10 spot, but he has the potential to finish top 5. With Todd Gurley and Brandin Cooks leaving, 121 targets open up, which mean Higbee can only go up from his 89 target mark.

Over the last 5 weeks off the season, Higbee accumulated 107.2 points for an average of 21.44 points per game. This would put him as the number one tight end during the stretch. However, there is no way that he can keep this up over a 16 game season due to one, Jared Goff and also Gerald Evereet will have his moments. Towards the end of the season, it was clear that Higbee was this teams number one tight end going forward.

Will Higbee produce like many expect him to, or was this stretch just a fluke? In the second half of the season, the Rams played with more 2 tight end sets which led to Higbee playing over 85% of offensive snaps during the last 5 games. Also, during the second half of the season, the Rams tight ends saw an increase in targets.

The Rams are not going to be good in 2020. They lost to many pieces defensively for them to compete and their division isn't going to do them any favors. The Rams also have the 10th hardest schedule and considering their defensive situation, they will be playing from behind in most of them. This means Goff will have to throw the ball more which will lead to more targets for Higbee.

Even if Everett is playing, the Rams offense shifted to the two tight end set seems to be permanent due to the loss of Brandin Cooks. Both tight ends will be on the field so both will have equal opportunity to perform.

Higbee is being taken late in drafts so why not take a shot on him. If he pans out like I expect, you have yourself a elite anchor at tight end whose a lock to finish top 5-7, and you didn't have to miss out on an elite running back or wide receiver to draft a Kittle or Kielce. Higbee's the truth and he will finish in the top 7.
