Most Underrated Player: Detriot Lions
The most undervalued player on the Lions is also one of the most disrespected and underrated quarterbacks from the past decade. I am talking about Matthew Stafford. Stafford has been consistently finishing in the top 10 in quarterback points for the past decade. His value is declining this year due to an injury he suffered last season, which cost him 8 games.
Stafford's current ADP is in the 10th round and is currently being the 13th quarterback off the board. Before he got injured last season, Stafford was on pace for 5000 yards, 38 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions while averaging 24.8 points per game. If he would've played all 16 games while scoring 24.8 points per game, he would've 396.8 points, which would've put him at second for quarterback scoring. He would've scored 50 more points than the 3rd highest scoring quarterback and just less than 24 points than Lamar Jackson, who had a historic season.
Well, why would you draft a 32 year old quarterback who came off an injury? Well, Stafford played 8 full seasons before last season and the Lions have the 5th hardest schedule in the NFL. Their defense still has a lot of holes meaning they will be playing from behind in many of their games. The Lions have also never had a great running back and we don't know if Swift is the answer. These factors will force Stafford to throw the ball a lot which will lead to more fantasy points.
Instead of taking a quarterback early, load up on running backs and wide receivers and draft Stafford late. He could be a very valuable value pick.
