Most Underrated Player: Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns have had a plethora of very disappointing season. After trading for Odell Beckham last season, many people had the Browns as a playoff team and a Super Bowl contender. However, we saw how that went and the Browns were labeled as one of the most overrated teams in the league.

The Browns have one of the most underrated players in the league and overall a player that is very disrespected in rankings and discussions in rankings for top running backs. This players name is Nick Chubb.

Nick Chubb was drafted by the Browns in 2018 and started his career as a backup to Carlos Hyde. After a breakout game against the Oakland Raiders, Chubb solidified the faith that the Browns had in him, which led to them trading Carlos Hyde. Now Chubb is the lead back on the team and is arguably one of the best running backs in the NFL.

Chubb has produced insane numbers behind a terrible offensive line. He rushed for 1494 yards last season, which was the second highest in the league along with 8 touchdowns. The Browns ranked 23rd in offensive line according to PFF. Those are impressive numbers that could've been higher if not for Kareem Hunt.

Nick Chubb also leads the league in yards after contact with 829 yards with a 4.3 average, almost 300 yards more than the second highest player. Chubb also had one of the highest yards per attempt with 5 yards per carry which was 6th in the NFL.

So from a statistical standpoint, it is absurd that is not mentioned among the top running backs in the league. I would have him in fronton players like Dalvin Cook and Ezekiel Elliot and behind players such as Saquon Barkley, Derrick Henry and CMC.

The eye test, furthermore solidifies Chubbs standing among the best running backs in the league.

Nick Chubb is very fast for a person of his stature, making him a unique blend of speed and strength. He is very hard to bring down in the open field and if given space, is very elusive. He has a great burst through the hole and is great at reading blocks.

Behind Saquon Barkley, Derrick Henry and CMC, I am not sure I would want another running back that is not named Nick Chubb.
